Rad Rodgers October Update - IT'S A WRAP!
over 8 years ago – Mon, Oct 23, 2017 at 01:37:28 AM

First of all, thank you all for the patience!
It's been a few months since our last update - Let me fill you in,

The last few months haven't been that interesting.
We've been primarily focused on Localization (8+ languages + a FULL german voice option) and a very extensive QA Pass on both PC, Xbox One and PS4.

It's the usual grind of fixing bugs, going through another pass, fixing bugs again, polish etc. The usual drill after you're content complete.

Last Friday we submitted the last and final version to Valve, Microsoft, and Sony.

So - This is where we're at. From this point forward, the release of the new Rad Rodgers is in the hands of THQ Nordic.

When and where they'll release the game (It will have a physical copy on day one for all platforms!), is entirely up to them. So if you have any questions regarding the release, I suggest you reach out to them directly.

We've been super happy about this new collaboration. We managed to put a ton of new features into the game and had a lot of fun with it. Alongside all the great new content, THQ Nordic also heavily invested in further QA support and a massive localization pass (We even have Chinese, Korean and Japanese localization).

So - Currently we're all playing the waiting game.
Rad Rodgers is done, wrapped up and ready to launch. But a game launch is always tricky. Especially considering timing.

Our bet is that our publisher is looking for the right time (Which is definitely NOT next week). For any news, please reach out to THQ directly!

Thank you for all the amazing support guys!

IT'S A WRAP!

Rad Rodgers Dev Diary #11 - Excalibat!
over 8 years ago – Fri, Jul 21, 2017 at 11:52:33 PM

 Another friday, another dev. update!
Today we're talking about one of the brand new power-ups in Rad Rodgers - The legendary Excalibat. So what are you waiting for? Let's get started!

The Mighty Excalibat

The Excalibat is a legendary weapon. It was first introduced in the cult classic "Rise of the Triad" in 1995.

In 2013 we released our first title under the name "Interceptor Entertainment". The game was a reboot of Rise of the Triad and also gained a cult following.

And what would a RoTT game be, without the legendary weapon?

So why are we adding the Excalibat to Rad Rodgers?
Last year we presented you guys with a vote for which weapon you'd love to see added to Rad Rodgers. There was a range of different ideas, but ultimately you guys decided to vote for the Excalibat. And we couldn't be happier!

The Excalibat is finally in-game and working.
It's a brand new type of Weapon - Power up might be a better description.

When you pick up the Excalibat, your primary weapon is holstered and the Excalibat is activated. You can both Swing with the bat to do a powerful Melee attack, or hold the fire button for a few seconds to charge up an extra powerful attack, which will cause skull-shaped baseballs to fly in all directions and explode on impact.

The Excalibat insta-kills all enemies in the game, but it's time limited to 30 seconds.
The player is also invincible during the power up, so use it while it lasts!

We hope you'll enjoy this insanely fun addition to the game!

Have a great weekend and as always, don't forget to follow us on social media!

Rad Rodgers Dev Diary #10 - Bring on the Leaderboards
over 8 years ago – Mon, Jul 10, 2017 at 05:30:56 PM

Time for another Dev. Diary!
As most of you already know, we're currently deep into the closed beta.
Last week we were testing the new Leaderboards Functionality Intensively.

Today I'd love to talk a bit about Leaderboards and how they work.

Leaderboards = How do they work?

The Leaderboards in Rad Rodgers appear at the end of each level, or in the Overworld depending on where you want to view them.

At the end of each level, we now present the players with a Score. The Score is a total calculation of Gems, Enemies Killed, Secret Areas found, etc. The Timer gives you a score Bonus or Penalty depending on how fast or slow you were at finishing a level.

The Timer counts for roughly 5-10% of your total score. We spent a lot of time balancing it, to the point where it's always a Score Benefit to find all secrets, gems, etc. rather than skipping these and going for a fast time.

We also implemented a difficulty bonus.
When playing the game on Normal mode, your score is multiplied by 2, while the score is multiplied by 3 on Hard mode.

Once you finish a level, you can select the Leaderboards button to check your ranking compared to other players.

As mentioned before the Ranking can also be viewed directly from the Overworld, and even on Steam.

On Steam you can watch your score at any time, and compare it to your friends or the global Leaderboards.

You can already check out this feature today, by clicking the Link below:

The Leaderboard is a great feature, which really brings out the competitive nature of Rad Rodgers.

We can't wait for all of you to join once Rad Rodgers is released!
